To All Alumni and former Faculty of BOC/BIT/RIT/YIT/YTU
Dear RIT Alumni and Former Faculty,
We are organizing a Reunion for all RIT Alumni and former Faculty to be held in Los Angeles, California, USA on October 17, 2015, and hope that you will be able to attend. We will invite to this event all alumni, former faculty, and staff (and spouses or partners) of BOC, BIT, RIT, YIT and YTU, residing in all locations around the world.
There have been seven Saya Puzaw Pwe and Grand Reunions starting with the one in the year 2000 in Northern California followed by others in Singapore and Yangon, the most recent being the Golden Jubilee Celebration at the RIT Campus on December 27, 2014. It is truly a great tribute to the RIT Alumni community for having one Reunion every two years on average during this period. All of them enjoyed large turnouts and were very successful! It shows the bond that was formed during the time spent at RIT among fellow students, between students and sayas/sayamas, and among faculty as well as administrative staff, is genuine and has not diminished over time. It is truly amazing that this bond extends across the community through generations over the past 70+ years as evidenced by the joy each of us felt being together at these events with members of the RIT family from different eras. This bond has often been fondly referred to as the “RIT Spirit”.
We feel there never is too much of a good thing, and the same goes for RIT Reunions. Additionally, many of our sayas/sayamas and some senior alumni are getting on in years, and the sooner we meet again, the more of our friends we will see. We, therefore, propose to have the Eighth Grand Reunion this year in Southern California. We invite your suggestions to make it as enjoyable as possible for all the attendees.
We will post on this website (http://www.RIT-alumni.org), news and status of our preparation for this Reunion, registration information, and other relevant information, as they become available. You will also be able to provide input and suggestions to us through this website. Please spread the news about the event and the website among your alumni friends, and visit the website often.
We hope you will attend this Reunion, and will appreciate your cooperation by registering early.
