Dear RIT Alumni/Faculty,
We cordially invite you and your spouse (or a companion) to attend the 2015 RIT Alumni Reunion in Los Angeles, California, USA. All alumni who had attended BOC/BIT/RIT/YIT/YTU irrespective of graduation status, and faculty members are invited.
As you are aware, there had been seven grand reunion events over the past 15 years, starting with the one in San Francisco, California in the year 2000 and the latest being the golden anniversary event on the RIT campus in Yangon on 27th December 2014. The other events were held either in Singapore or in Yangon. If you had attended any of these previous events, you will be familiar with the feeling of joy and happiness at the opportunity to be with your friends you had not seen in years. We want to offer you another opportunity to see some of them again as well as some others who were unable to attend the past events.
We are trying our best to make this event enjoyable for you and your companion. You are encouraged to visit our website “www.rit-alumni.org” for information about this event, and to give suggestions to make the event more enjoyable for all attendees. In addition to the main event, we plan to arrange for gatherings and short trips that you and your friends will have the option to join to enjoy doing things together in smaller and more intimate groups. Southern California offers many attractions for tourists, and we will post on the website, information (and fees) for ones we are able to arrange for your participation. If you have interest in other attractions not found among our offers, please make a suggestion by visiting the “suggestions” link on the website.
We hope that you will attend the event, and request you to register early. We are pleased to announce the very kind pledge by Mr. Steeve Kay (a) U Thaung Sein (EC-70), a resident alumni of Southern California, to support the event with matching funds on your registration fees and voluntary donations, up to US$30,000 from Kay Family Foundation. Using funds received from U Thaung Sein and other generous donors, we expect to be able to arrange a second opportunity that we will announce later, for all interested attendees to gather again on the day after the event for more fun and enjoyment.
