Dear RIT Alumni/Faculty,

We cordially invite you and your spouse (or a companion) to attend the 2015 RIT Alumni Reunion in Los Angeles, California, USA. All alumni who had attended BOC/BIT/RIT/YIT/YTU irrespective of graduation status, and faculty members are invited.

As you are aware, there had been seven grand reunion events over the past 15 years, starting with the one in San Francisco, California in the year 2000 and the latest being the golden anniversary event on the RIT campus in Yangon on 27th December 2014. The other events were held either in Singapore or in Yangon. If you had attended any of these previous events, you will be familiar with the feeling of joy and happiness at the opportunity to be with your friends you had not seen in years. We want to offer you another opportunity to see some of them again as well as some others who were unable to attend the past events.

We are trying our best to make this event enjoyable for you and your companion. You are encouraged to visit our website “” for information about this event, and to give suggestions to make the event more enjoyable for all attendees. In addition to the main event, we plan to arrange for gatherings and short trips that you and your friends will have the option to join to enjoy doing things together in smaller and more intimate groups. Southern California offers many attractions for tourists, and we will post on the website, information (and fees) for ones we are able to arrange for your participation. If you have interest in other attractions not found among our offers, please make a suggestion by visiting the “suggestions” link on the website.

We hope that you will attend the event, and request you to register early. We are pleased to announce the very kind pledge by Mr. Steeve Kay (a) U Thaung Sein (EC-70), a resident alumni of Southern California, to support the event with matching funds on your registration fees and voluntary donations, up to US$30,000 from Kay Family Foundation. Using funds received from U Thaung Sein and other generous donors, we expect to be able to arrange a second opportunity that we will announce later, for all interested attendees to gather again on the day after the event for more fun and enjoyment.

  1. Please register by contacting an area representative if possible. Online registration is for those who cannot register through a representative.
  2. If you can mail a US bank check payable in US$, write check for registration fee payable to “2015 RIT Alumni Reunion”, and mail to Thura Zin, 19315 Dunbrooke Avenue, Carson, CA 90746. If paid by check, registration will be effective only after check is cleared.
  3. Alternatively, Please pay registration fee and donations using “Paypal”.
  4. Please make sure you fill in menu selection for the dinner at the main event.
  5. Only Alumni and spouse (or one companion) may register.

Following decisions were made by Organizing Committee at the meeting on July 12.

  1. Due to less than anticipated registrations received so far, and having to start installment payments to Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel based on number of attendees, the maximum number of attendees for acceptance will be reduced from 500 to 350.
  1. To provide an incentive to early registration, registration fee will increase from $80 to $100 per attendee starting on 09/18/2015.
  1. In order to enable providing the guaranteed number of attendees to Knott’s Berry Farm Resort Hotel per the contract required date, the last date for acceptance of registrations is announced as September 30, 2015.
  1. No on-site registrations will be allowed.

For US Visa Application at the US Consulate in Yangon, the consular office had instructed that the visa applicant for attending the reunion include a copy of the letter to US Consular from the Organizing Committee of the 2015 RIT Alumni Reunion in Los Angeles (Click “PDF Version Download” button) among documents to be submitted one week prior to the visa interview.
